As a parent, there are so many things I want to share with my child. Among the most significant is creating a sense of adventure and curiosity about the world and discovering the people and traditions of far off places. And, perhaps most importantly, recognizing that they are really not so far off in our global interconnected society.
My husband and I are from opposite sides of the pond, so my son already understands the concept of cultural differences --that some words like "football" have dual meanings, and that Boxing Day has nothing to do with sports.
We have spent lots of time considering how to share our love for adventure travel with our son. This summer, we are testing out our ideas and are taking our six year old son on the adventure of a lifetime. I invite you to follow us on this transformational journey with my little global citizen.
